The Six Week Silence

Ok, it's been six weeks since my last post. Here's why...

The first week I was in bed with a Fibromyalgia flare up. Nothing special there really. Once I was feeling better, (the second week) I went down stairs and saw my dog, Rosie (pic one & Two below), sitting in one of her favourite places, the hall. I looked again as I hadn't heard her walk over but she wasn't there, she was still in the living room. I saw her plain as day but she was in a completely different room.

I didn't think much of it until the end of that week when Rosie died unexpectedly from heart failure. Looking back on it, she was showing me she had a strong energy.

I was heartbroken and I had such a bad day that Sunday. All I wanted to do was hug her and tell her how much I loved her. I was distraught.

That night, I had the most wonderful dream. I was outside my room on the landing and Rosie was there. She was so excited to see me and she was kicking my face like she always did. Was so happy but there was a voice in the background gently saying "You know this is a dream, don't you" and I couldn't understand why she was there looking so well when she had died.
I woke up feeling much calmer about it. I know she has died but she's still with me.

The Third week was really tough. I'd decided I wanted another dog once Rosie had gone but I thought we'd have a few more years together before I would be in a position to think about it. That week was a mixture of grief and looking for dogs! Nothing could ever replace Rosie and I wouldn't want it to either but I just couldn't live without a dog, I still had so much love to give.
Most nights that week, before I went to sleep, I saw the face of puppy with a white face and black-tipped ears. I had seen so many photos of Shih Tzu puppies for sale but not one like that so I didn't know where it was coming from. That Friday night, I saw a picture of a puppy for sale. (pic three below) I knew instantly that this was the dog I had been seeing every night. We called the breeder in Southampton only to find out he was spoken for. I was gutted but ten mins later the breeder called back to say that the other person hadn't paid a deposit for him so if we collected him by 12pm the next day and paid in full, we could have him. It felt like a sign as we'd gotten Rosie in very similar way, she was rescued and her owners has a few hours to collect her or we'd rehome her. Who am I kidding? It was definitely a sign! We drove down to Southampton the following day and brought him home. His name is Jasper :oD

Two weeks whizzed by and then I was left alone with him for a whole week while my folks were away on holiday. The middle of that week, I got up in the night for the look and I saw my Rosie poke her head out from my parents' room. (One of her many sleeping places!) she looked around, looked at me, wagged her tail (I couldn't see but her whole body wagged when she wagged her tail) and then she went back into my folks' room.
It was amazing, I knew she was still around.

So almost another couple of weeks have flown by and that's it! Jasper's growing into a cutie and Rosie has been seen by people at Development Circle so she's still around in her own way too :o)
